CHARLESTON CAB COMPANY LEGAL STUFF
Charleston Cab Company will always charge the metered fare for Charleston City pickups. EXCEPTION: Reserved Van trips.
FLAT RATE: If passenger is being picked up and dropped off within the City of Charleston peninsula, City Ordinance requires that a flat rate of $5 be charged for the first passenger, and $1 extra for each additional passenger. Charleston Cab Company considers the peninsula to end at the Crosstown. Trips to and from north of the Crosstown but within City limits will be $10 flat rate for the first passenger, and $1 extra for each additional passenger.
CHARGES IN EXCESS OF METERED OR FLAT RATES
When the price of gasoline exceeds $3.00 per gallon, a 50 cents fuel surcharge will be added to all metered fares. When the price exceeds $3.50, a $1.00 fuel surcharge will be added to all metered fares.
Stops in excess of one are charged at a minimum of $3 per additional stop. Waits at excess stops in excess of 3 minutes are charged at $3.00 for each additional 3 minutes.
All tolls, gate fees, and parking fees will be passed on to the passenger and are not included in flat or metered fares.
TRIP CANCELLATIONS / CLIENT NO SHOW
Charleston Cab Company (“CCC”) cancellation policy is as follows:
All reservations must be cancelled 24 hours prior to the reservation or passenger will be deemed accountable for a full rate charge and no refund shall issue.
EXCEPTION: Reserved Van weekend trips are NON-REFUNDABLE.
A minimum 50% of the fare will be charged if a CCC vehicle is enroute to the pick-up location and reservation is cancelled.
Once CCC is at pick-up location a 5-minute grace period is permitted. If the passenger(s) fails to show up within 5 minutes of CCC vehicle arrival the full fare is still charged.
CCC driver will always call passenger(s) upon arrival. If a dispute arises as to a fail to cancel or no-show event, passenger agrees that CCC driver’s call log will be the sole determinant of whether and when CCC arrived at the passenger pick-up location.
CCC reserves the right to change the cancellation policy for special circumstance rides. The dispatcher will disclose these terms during time of reservation.
AIRPORT AND CRUISE PORT CANCELLATIONS / CLIENT NO SHOW
All Airport and Cruise Port reservations must be prepaid. All reservations must be cancelled 24 hours prior to the reservation or passenger will be deemed accountable for a full rate charge and no refund shall issue.
EXCEPTION: If a passenger arriving flight at CHS International Airport is cancelled passenger will not be deemed accountable if passenger has notified CCC of arriving flight cancellation immediately upon learning of cancellation. If passenger fails to notify CCC of arriving flight cancellation immediately upon learning of cancellation passenger will be deemed accountable for full rate charge and no refund shall issue.
LIABILITIES AND DELAYS
Charleston Cab Company will not be held liable for delays that may be caused by travel accidents, airline delays, vehicle mechanical breakdowns, inclement weather, bridge closures, U.S. Customs or other legal authorities, public enemies, quarantine, perils of navigation, riots, strikes, Acts of God, or other conditions beyond control of power. Charleston Cab Company is not liable in any way for a failure to maintain reservations if such conditions should arise.
If any CCC vehicle is damaged or soiled by a passenger(s), interior or exterior, the passenger(s) will be responsible for the complete repair and/or cleaning cost. A minimum charge of $150 will apply. Driver has complete discretion on what to charge for soilage.
Passenger(s) will also be held accountable for paying a specified amount of revenue that is lost if a Charleston Cab Company car is taken out of service for repair or cleaning.
Charleston Cab Company requires that a parent or guardian call in the reservation for the minor and give permission for the minor to ride unattended.
No smoking, drinking, or eating inside Charleston Cab Company vehicles.
Passengers with alcohol or illegal substances will be asked to exit the vehicle immediately.
Concealed weapons or any type of weapon are strictly prohibited
Under no circumstances is Charleston Cab Company responsible for damaged baggage during ride. All fragile items should be placed by passenger where they feel they are safe.
LOST AND FOUND
Charleston Cab Company will post general descriptions on this website of all items in its Lost and Found. Passenger must provide specific identifying information to CCC of a Lost and Found item. CCC will do its best to return lost items but is not responsible for items left in a car.
